Microsoft Advertising has expanded its MCP server functionalities with two new tools, GetAssets and GetChangeHistory. The server now allows AI-driven interfaces like Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot Studio, and GitHub Copilot to retrieve asset-level performance metrics and detailed account change histories. This update enables users to analyze which headlines or images perform best, and identify changes in budgets, bids, or statuses, without needing to access the UI.
GetAssets facilitates access to text, image, and video assets, tracking their performance and associating them with accounts, campaigns, or ad groups. It defaults to a 30-day performance window unless specified otherwise. GetChangeHistory provides a chronological log of account changes, sortable by various attributes and spanning up to 180 days.
The Microsoft Advertising MCP setup guide was also updated to support authorizations through both work/school and personal Microsoft accounts, simplifying the connection process across popular AI and development platforms.
