Google Tests Ads in AI Mode with Personal Intelligence

Google is now experimenting with displaying ads in AI Mode integrated with Personal Intelligence.

Previously, AI Mode was ad-free for users who chose to connect their apps, but this is changing. Google confirmed that AI Mode will feature relevant ads based on query context and user interests, while excluding direct data from Gmail inboxes or Google Photos.

Google shared that it is testing ads for users connecting apps through Personal Intelligence, reversing its original ad-free stance. Advertisers will not have direct access to connected app data, and sensitive categories remain unexploited.
