A new attribute called native commerce [native_commerce] has been introduced in Google Merchant Center, enabling eligible product listings to participate in the “Buy Now” flow within Google interfaces like Gemini and AI Mode in Search, without visiting an external website.
It was previously mentioned in various occasions, but now Google published its own help page.
Key features include Enhanced Transactability for high-intent surfaces and Seamless Integration via supplemental feeds that do not disrupt primary data.
The checkout eligibility sub-attribute dictates if the “Buy” button is displayed, enhancing user experience in the shopping process.

Merchants are encouraged to utilize a supplemental feed for flexibility and to confirm successful ingestion in the Merchant Center after updating their data.
