Google Merchant Center now warns that images smaller than 500×500 pixels may be ineligible for YouTube Shopping ads. While the official minimums remain 100×100 pixels for most products and 250×250 pixels for apparel, higher-resolution assets are becoming essential for full ad eligibility.

This update aligns with Google’s shift toward more visual, immersive Shopping experiences across surfaces, including YouTube.
Advertisers should now use images of at least 500×500 pixels to ensure broader coverage. Google’s official recommendation is to upload assets at a minimum of 1500×1500 pixels for optimal quality.
