Starting July 14, 2025, Google Ads scripts will begin returning errors for any requests involving ad customizers in expanded text ads (ETA) or feed-based legacy ad extensions.

These features were deprecated years ago and are now being fully removed:

  • AdsApp.AdCustomizerSource and related methods will stop working
  • withOnlyLegacy() selectors will return errors
  • withOnlyUpgraded() will log a warning (since asset-based extensions are now the default)

If your scripts still reference these, now’s the time to clean up or refactor to avoid breakages.
