Microsoft Advertising Boosts Shopping, PMAX & Audience Ads

Microsoft Advertising has rolled out significant updates to improve Shopping campaigns, Performance Max, and audience ads.

Shopping Campaigns

  • Test Feed: Validate errors without affecting live listings. The “Enable publishing” checkbox is now “Use feed for testing only.”
  • Primary Feed for Local Inventory Ads: Streamlined setup with just two feeds instead of three. Online feeds will auto-upgrade the primary feed from April 1.

Audience Ads

  • Disclaimers: It is now available for native ads; Performance Max support is coming soon.
  • Expanded Video Support: 9:16 vertical videos and 90-second ads are now supported.
  • Longer Short Headlines: Increased to 40 characters for better clarity.

Performance Max

  • LinkedIn Profile Targeting: Now available globally.
  • New Aspect Ratios: Four added, three removed to improve ad placements.
  • Audience Insights & Conversion Metrics: More detailed reporting for better campaign refinement.

Other Updates

  • Bid Adjustments: Minimum bids auto-raised for imported campaigns since March 25.
  • Optimization Score Deprecation: Phasing out from April 8, replaced by AI-driven Digital Maturity Score in May.
