Sexual Health & Wellness Policy Expanding Ad Options

On November 11, 2024, Google Ads will introduce a “Sexual Health & Wellness” policy allowing ads for personal lubricants and specific prescription drugs on its platforms in select countries.

  • Advertisers may promote personal lubricants in the following countries only: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Portugal, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States
  • Certified pharmaceutical manufacturers and certified advertisers promoting prescription drug services may promote prescription drugs for erectile dysfunction and hypoactive sexual desire disorder in the following countries only: Canada, New Zealand and the United States

Ads must be non-suggestive, target users 18+, and comply with Google’s healthcare guidelines and local laws.

Full enforcement will ramp up over 10 weeks, with potential future expansions for products and regions.
