Google has issued a warning on its help page regarding Google Tag Manager (GTM) snippets. The page states that GTM snippets will soon no longer recognize or wait for gtag(‘config’) commands.
Sites using GTM containers but relying on gtag(‘config’,’G-…’/’AW-…’) for configuring Google Ads or GA4 tags are using an unsupported implementation. Affected container owners received notifications via email.
The help page provides a list of supported versus unsupported implementations, with code examples for clarity.

This update is related to the recent announcement about merging Google Tag and Google Tag Manager.
