Google Redesigns Promotion Marketing Methods Layout

A screenshot of a marketing methods menu shows "Google Wallet" highlighted as a new promotion option, with blue checkboxes and a green "NEW" label. A blue price tag icon appears in the bottom right corner.

Google is rolling out a redesigned Promotion marketing methods layout in Merchant Center. The updated interface now separates promotion placements into two distinct sections, making it easier to distinguish between options for online stores and physical stores

Google Merchant Center Promotions Supports Google Wallet

The change appears to be focused on improving navigation rather than introducing new functionality. Advertisers managing both ecommerce and brick and mortar promotions may find it easier to configure the correct placements without scrolling through a single mixed list.

Among the key placements available for online stores are:

  • Shopping Ads
  • Free Listings
  • Google Wallet
  • Chrome Browser

For businesses with physical stores, the update allows promotions through:

  • Local Inventory Ads
  • Free Local Listings
  • Google Wallet
  • Chrome Browser

This rollout is still underway, meaning availability may vary across Merchant Center accounts.

The available placement options themselves are not new. Google Wallet and Chrome browser placements were already spotted in October 2025.
