Microsoft Tests Magazine-Layout Answer Cards

A Google search results page shows shopping ads for bike and vehicle loading ramps, prices, product images, seller names, and Magazine-Style Answer Cards, along with text links to Amazon and Harbor Freight Tools.

Microsoft Advertising has rolled out a new magazine-style answer card format for search results on desktop. This feature aims to present information in a visually engaging way.

A Google search results page shows shopping ads for bike and vehicle loading ramps, prices, product images, seller names, and Magazine-Style Answer Cards, along with text links to Amazon and Harbor Freight Tools.

Navah Hopkins from Microsoft confirmed that this is a new format being tested, describing it as a “magazine layout” that is part of a newer Answer Card format. She explained that advertisers can appear in this placement through Shopping, Multimedia, and Performance Max ads, but there is no unique auction for it. As a result, ads will either show in this layout or in another spot on the search results page, not both.
