Google has filed its compliance plan with the European Commission following its ad-tech ruling, while firmly stating it disagrees with the decision and will appeal.

Instead of a breakup, Google proposes product and policy changes aimed at fixing the issues the EC raised without disrupting the thousands of publishers and advertisers who rely on its tools.

What’s in the proposal:

  • Immediate product updates to end the practices flagged by the EC
  • A new Google Ad Manager feature lets publishers set different minimum prices for different bidders
  • Increased interoperability across Google’s ad-tech tools for more choice and flexibility

Google says the EC’s decision doesn’t reflect today’s competitive ad-tech landscape. The Commission will now review the plan and decide on the next steps.
