Google will update its Business name requirements policy in October 2026, allowing differences between a business name and destination domain in select cases.
This policy change applies if the business name accurately represents the recognized brand of the advertiser, there is a verified direct relationship with the domain owner, and the products or services are directly offered on the destination domain.
However, third-party resellers and similar intermediaries are not eligible to use the standalone brand name as their business name.
