In August 2025, Google Ads will retire the “Restricted Medical Content” label, which previously enabled certified advertisers to target prescription drug keywords. This is an internal enforcement update and does not change eligibility or policy requirements.

Advertisers already certified to target prescription drug terms will remain eligible. The Restricted Drug Terms policy continues to apply to ads, landing pages, or keywords referencing prescription medications.

Policy violations will not result in immediate account suspension. Google will provide a warning at least 7 days in advance before any suspension action.
