Google Adds Branded Searches as New Conversion Metric

Dario Zannoni spotted a new help page dedicated to Branded searches. a new conversion type announced at GML 2025.

This new metric tracks how many “branded searches” were triggered on Google or YouTube after users saw your ads.

It’s available for YouTube, Performance Max (YouTube, Discover, and Gmail), and Demand Gen (YouTube, Discover Feed, and Gmail) campaigns. What else do we know?

  • Attribution: 30-day view-through
  • Optimization use: Not yet, but Google hints it might come
  • Brand mapping: Make sure brand mapping is configured for accurate attribution
