Google Ads Tests Grouped Favicons Next to Sponsored Label

A Google search results page shows a “Sponsored results” section for pet insurance with an arrow pointing to the "Ad" label and highlighting the sponsored label design next to the costco.com result.

Google Ads is experimenting with a new visual format on the search results page on mobile devices, displaying grouped business logos from advertisers directly next to the Sponsored label.

This test seems to show when:

  • There’s a larger sponsored label used as headline of the section, and
  • Ads are grouped in an expandable format with a button below them showing “Hide sponsored results” to hide them
